Oh The Places I Will Go!

As I try to complete my amazing race to do list; I have to stop myself from tripping over all of the “what if I forgot this?” which rattles thru my mind. This morning at the gym I go to, I shared some of the planned activities, flight costs, and accommodation savings to the two young women who were working. I also mentioned my travelling blog and quirky sense of humor, which is part of writing for fun. I would like to say I was at the gym, to get in that last sweat, burning Jillian inspired workout. However, I hopped into the tanning booth one final time before our departure today. I am sure the lovely foods I will indulge in, will play a big part in derailing my diet and exercise. Yet really, who am I kidding to play with the notion that I will manage my weight while vacationing! For me, the beauty of travel is to simply let go and live for the moments that astound you. The brilliance of the sunsets I will see; the tropical seaside and the botanical gardens thriving with an explosion of color, uniqueness, and splendor. Traveling provides endless prospects of explorations and adventures. For me to be able to immerse myself in a world of culture and history; while embracing the many opportunities, is surreal. Likewise, to expand my knowledge of a place I have only ever dreamed, gives me a deeper appreciation for this trip. Being an avid photographer, I will search out my bond with nature and take part in soul-stirring hikes, opening up all senses to each new experience.

The realization that I too will leave behind my own imprints on the Islands I visit, instills in me that in a vast world of rapid technology, what really connects us are the roots we anchor to the destinations we seek.
